Neighbourhood Plan – Help Shape Flitwick’s Future Development
The Town Council is looking at the feasibility of creating a Neighbourhood Plan for Flitwick.
Driven by the local community, a Neighbourhood Plan gives you a greater say over what development goes where, what that development could look like, and what sort of improvements to transport, services and other facilities you would like to see in the future.
A Neighbourhood Plan sits alongside the National Planning Policy Framework and the local authority’s Local Plan. It is a policy document that Central Bedfordshire Council would have to consider in their planning decisions.
The Council is currently investigating whether creating a Neighbourhood Plan is feasible, and part of this process is seeing whether it is something residents would want to help develop.
Creating a Neighbourhood Plan can take some time and so initially we want to know if you want to help with the work to create it. We would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has any specialist skills that would be useful in helping create the Neighbourhood Plan such as land use planning, project management and data analysis.
