(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2020
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the full lengths of Footpath No 2 and Bridleway No 7, Flitton and Greenfield, Footpath No A6, Maulden and Bridleway No 2, Flitwick which extend from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 0573 3601 to OS GR SP 0433 3608.
These temporary closures are required to enable a new bridge to be installed where Bridleway No 7 crosses the River Flit. The closure is expected to take place from 11th January 2021 and will remain in place until the works are complete.
The alternative routes for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be:

There is unfortunately no alternative route for cyclists and equestrians.
Further details, including a map, can also be found on the Council’s website at: http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/leisure/countryside/rights-of-way/temporary.aspx
The proposed Order will come into operation on 11th January 2021 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths and bridleways have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
