FLITWICK SKATE PARK SET FOR COMPLETE TRANSFORMATION THANKS TO GRANT FUNDING
Flitwick Skate Park will be transformed later this year thanks to a successful application for funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund administered by Central Bedfordshire Council.
A total of £38,400 has been received from the fund with the Town Council match funding an additional £9,600 for the project.
The project will see the Skate Park extended with new features including a blended quarter pipe, berm corner, and a whippy quarter with embedded pump bump.
Town Mayor, Councillor John Roberts said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this funding to develop this popular community asset in Millennium Park.
“The Council is committed to investing in better facilities, services and events for young people and this exciting project will make a real difference to everyone who uses the Skate Park.”
Twice a year the Skate Park is the location of the Flitwick Skate Jam which attracts people from across the county.
The project is being delivered by specialist designers Gravity Skateparks and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
