Civilian Street Patrols
'Empowering our communities to make a difference'

Bedfordshire Police and Flitwick Town Council would like to set up a Street Watch Scheme in your area and are offering you the chance to be involved. If you would like to play an active part in your neighbourhood, meet new people within your area and promote a sense of security and community spirit then please come along to our presentation to find out more about StreetWatch and SpeedWatch outside Tesco between 11am - 1pm on Friday 27th January and Saturday 4th February. An Information Point will be held at the former Town Council office adjacent to Flitwick Library during these times.

John Plummer, StreetWatch Co-ordinator for Bedfordshire, has commented that “being involved in this scheme is really enjoyable and can be done while carrying out everyday activities”.

101 Non Emergency Number

Bedfordshire Police have launched a new number providing people with a new way to get in touch about non-emergency issues. 101 is now the main number to call Beds Police when it is less urgent than 999.

You should call 101 to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response. For example; stolen cars, if you suspect drug dealing/taking, to give us information about crime in your area or to speak to your Local Policing Team.

101 should not be used to report fly tipping, noise pollution, stray dogs - these should initially be reported to your local council: Central Bedfordshire Council by calling 0300 300 8000.
