Policies
The purpose of the Allotment Liaison Committee is to liaise about any matter relating to the statutory allotment sites.
Membership: Three members to represent the Town Council and three members to represent the other organisation. The allotment representatives to consist of a representative each from the Station Road and Steppingley Road sites and one other general representative. The representatives must be nominated by the organisations at the AGM and written advice given to each organisation of their details, though alterations can be made during the year by agreement.
Substitutes: Substitutes for any member are permitted but only the nominated representative or their substitute will attend meetings not both.
Quorum: Two members from each organisation must be present for the meeting to proceed.
Chairman: The Chairman to be a Town Council representative.
Meetings: There are to be a minimum of four meetings per year which will include site inspections in the growing season.
It is recommended that Town Council Members who become Allotment Liaison
Committee Members, and the Officer attending meetings, should familiarise themselves with allotment law and procedure.
Town Council representatives on the Allotment Liaison Committee shall not be allotment holders. If they become an allotment holder they will cease to be a representative because of the conflict of interest.
