Committee Structure

The Town Council has four statutory Committees which are Business Services, Community Services, Corporate Services and Planning.

Business Services

Combines the Council's business activity of the Rufus Centre, financial activity, the personnel function and asset management.

Community Services

Responsible for administration, community development, highways, burial ground, leisure, play areas and services for the local community.

Corporate Services

Covers civic activities, democratic services, communications, policies, business continuity, projects and the corporate plan.

Planning


Meets every three weeks on a Thursday at 7.45 pm to consider planning applications for the town and give a response to the District Council.

The Planning Chairman has the responsibility of ensuring and circulation of plans for discussion and may be required to attend Central Bedfordshire Planning Meetings to speak on any planning application decision to be controversial or have some impact on the community.
